Founded as a non-profit corporation in 1980, The Lone Star Bonsai Federation (LSBF) advances education in the aesthetic, historical, scientific, and horticultural features of the art of bonsai.  The organization conducts meetings, exhibitions and conventions to further the public's knowledge and interest in the art of bonsai.  Additionally, LSBF encourages and aides in the formation of clubs, societies, or associations to promote and further the art of Bonsai in Texas.

LSBF works with local clubs to help coordinate state-wide conventions and exhibitions.  Additionally LSBF aims to provide a network of both local and national touring artists to further bonsai demonstrations, lectures, and workshops throughout member organizations at an affordable rate.
